FARD (Family Register)

The most important document showing ownership history. Issued by the Union Council and shows all transactions related to the property.

Sale Deed

The legal document that transfers ownership from seller to buyer. Must be registered with the Sub-Registrar office.

Mutation

Entry in revenue records showing the new owner after sale. Different from sale deed - mutation transfers ownership in government records.

No Objection Certificate (NOC)

Required for properties in housing societies. Issued by the relevant authority confirming the unit is legally allocated.
